Buying a new small car - Kia Rio or Honda Jazz?

My daughter is considering purchasing either a new Kia Rio or a new Honda Jazz, both are petrol automatics. Which do you consider to be the best buy?

Both good choices. The Kia Rio 1.4 uses a torque-converter automatic gearbox which is a bit more refined than the Jazz's CVT. I'd probably go for the Rio (or very similar Hyundai i20), although the Jazz is a more practical choice.

We are thinking of buying a newish Vauxhall Corsa auto but it will need it to have enough power for hilly routes. Which engine/gearbox option would be best?
Is the Jazz CVT any good? Do you drive a CVT in the same way as a "normal" auto?
