Scooter pooper
I can't be the only one wondering why I spent close on £400 trying to pass my motorcycle test this summer only to fail the Module 1 on manoeuvres. My theory and hazard perception were a walk in the park, but the emergency stop and swerve at speed was another matter. And I'm not a novice rider. I've had my Vespa 125 for 4 years and been a car driver since 1996 and prior to that negotiated Rome traffic by scooter for 5 years. Not exactly wet behind the ears. But it's the two elements of the test that have to be driven at 50kph [34mph] that are causing the problems. Speaking to my local training centre and my Vespa dealer they also have raised concerns about these elements of the test and the consequent fall in passes. Is this just another bit of Brussels bureaucracy - hence the KPH? When can we see some sense?

Actually, it's the instability of the scooter that is causing the problems. Borrow a 125 motorbike and you'll stand a much better chance.
