Vaux-haul Asda

I recently visited the Asda supermarket at Shipley, which operates a two-hour parking limit policy, but unfortunately I was late in returning to my car and found a parking notice attached to my windscreen. When the fine when received it was promptly paid by cheque by myself. My bankers have since confirmed that this was cashed six days later. I have now received a demand notice for almost double the original "fine", which also includes threats of possible legal action. I would therefore appreciate your advice as to the next course of action because as you can appreciate I do not want this to affect my credit rating.

First of all, they are not entitled to take any action at all against you. But to de-fuse the situation, simply write back stating it was paid on x
date and demanding a written apology for the harassment due to their
negligent mistake. State that if you do not receive this you will take your own civil action against the parking enforcement agency for threatening behaviour and harassment.
