Arch enemy

I parked my BMW in the car park in Shoreham By Sea last night. There were no lights in the car park. On my return I was clamped. I endeavoured to reverse, I got out to see I had been clamped. I went to see the security men outside the pub and one of them came back with the sticker that they must have put on my car. They then came to release my car and had great difficulty getting the clamp off. The car was making the most awful sound when I drove it home. This morning I realise they have damaged the wheel arch and my alloy wheel. Please, what do you advise?

The damage was caused by you trying to drive the car while clamped. But you didn't know it was clamped because the clampers had not put a sticker on your window. Therefore you have grounds to sue the clamping company for repair of the resultant damage to your car, initiating your action via www.moneyclaim.gov.uk and proceeding to the small claims track of the county court if necessary (though this could take 8 – 12 months). Obviously, get three competitive quotes for repairing the damage first to show due diligence in attempting to get it fixed as cheaply as possible.
