Steering and ESP failures on a Vauxhall Meriva
The steering has just failed on my 56 plate Meriva (its only done 18k miles ), with an ESP warning light also showing. I have noticed on your website that this seems to be an increasing problem with Merivas. Some conributors have suggested that Vauxhall will repair the problem free of charge and others they will pay 40% of the cost. Do you have a definitive answer before I go contacting my local dealer?

I'm now getting feedback that Vauxhall is fixing this fault FOC on Merivas back to 2005. I think the recent fuss, especially on BBC Watchdog, led VOSA to issue a warning to Vauxhall that if it did not start fixing these then a vehicle safety recall would be issued.
