Is a tyre repair kit a good replacement for a spare wheel?

We have bought a Kia Picanto with a tyre inflator kit and no spare wheel. I recall you have been critical of inflator kits in the past. Do you still recommend getting a space saver spare?

Tyre repair kits simply don't work 95% of the time and, after not working, ruin the carcass of the tyre. So yes, get a space saver or put the car on run-flats.
