Any ideas for a long lasting car?
My 2005 Ford Mondeo is coming to the end of its useful life with 192,000 miles so far. Any suggestions as what to replace it with? I keep my cars for a long time and look after them, so durability is paramount.

Finding a like-for-like replacement will be difficult as few people buy Mondeo-sized cars any more and few manufacturers make them. A Honda would be good as they're pretty durable, but the Accord is no longer sold. A Civic would be a good choice if it's big enough for your needs. Also look at Toyota... we rate the new Corolla.

Bigger than previous Civic, independent rear suspension means better ride and handling, 1.0 VTEC turbo petrol is excellent while i-DTEC diesel is very refined.

Very efficient hybrid hatch with surprisingly upmarket interior. Good to drive, too, while standard equipment levels are generous.
