What's a good first car for someone who lives in London?

My London based 26-year-old grandson wishes to purchase his first car for occasional journeys out of London, especially to play golf. He wants a fun 'snazzy' car to drive that will take his golf clubs and has about £6k to spend. What would you recommend?

Consider a Honda Civic. It has a practical boot and a budget of £6000 will get you a 2011 model in good condition with low miles. Opt for the 1.8-litre petrol engine and it'll be fun to drive, too. Alternatively, the Skoda Octavia has a huge boot - but it might not be snazzy enough!
