Does anyone know if the "bee sting" roof car aerials on Vauxhalls are of the same spec across the range of different models? Not getting a good reception from the Vectra's radio and was wondering if the Astra's "bee sting" is the same part as I have had the offer of one?

I could be wrong, but I believe VX use an aerial amplifier somewhere in the system (possibly in the base of the aerial?) and if the radio reception is poor it could be this at fault.
Worth checking with the dealer/local radio specialist.

Tried the Astra aerial on the Vectra. Better reception. Now I have to explain to Dad why his radio recption isn't quite so good as it used to be!!

Wait until he mentions it - otherwise keep mum!
(If he says nothing, try nicking his tyres as well!)

Radios used to have adjustable impedance matching screw to suit different aerials. Usually at the back.
