i don't want to be too negative, but i really don't think petitions make the slightest bit of dfference...those in power can ignore them and come up with some answer to convince themseleves that 'they know best'

you'd be better off writing to your MP...and more importantly voting them out next time

I tend to agree with you - although I think the road pricing petition had some effect - or at least slowed them down in introducing it.

And given the number of people who have taken the time to complain in the other thread on VED, they must feel strongly enough to post on here - signing the e-petition takes less time than complaining on here.

So we vote them out next time. Fine, but Cameron is also on the green bandwagon - can't see his approach being any different. S'pose we'll all be on bikes.....
