My Granny used to call the kerb the front door step, after all, being from Yorkshire, I'm sure my family used to live in a cardboard box in the gutter, you know how hard life was up there. In truth, being from the Dales, I guess my granny had a grass verge at the edge of the road, not many pavements in Spennithorne.......Ducks behind parapet......
