Then have you tried the Properties alternative to Options and ensured that all the boxes are ticked that you require to be available in Play and/or Record Control, including both CD Digital and Audio?
There are two Audio tab settings covering the Play Control panel, i.e. Play and Record. You access the Play Control in each case via the Volume button.
In addition, the Play Control access also applies to the Volume tab on the same Sounds and Audio Devices panel.
It can all prove a bit confusing and it's why some people have problems getting the sound right for two-way conversations, for instance, when using Skype.
