According to the Mail today, Asda was set to instigate a petrol price war by charging 85.9p a litre to reflect lower costs - Tesco got its price down to 89.9p about a week ago in my area.

Most website distance indicators (but not route finders, of course) are as the crow flies ~ presumably just calculated using map references and Pythagorus's theorem. Is this the case here?

It'd be a very clever crow that could fly four miles and get from Silvertown to Esher. More like 24 miles by road - which is what multimap tells me it is. Point to point it has to be 20 miles plus ...

Shell is has been 87.9p hereabouts (Herts) for a week and more, and I think I spotted the same price during yesterday's trip to Micheldever, Abingdon and Stroud.

And having just signed up to the new site, I see that it is down to 85.9p now.

The postcode problem is confined to that one postcode. A KT12 postcode (my mums) gets it right as does my KT15 postcode.

Reading regularly has the cheapest petrol in S England - 85.9 at the moment for regular unleaded, at Tesco and Shell.

No the postcode problem is more than just one. If I put in my town, it finds four fuel stations, if I put in my postcode it finds only one within 10 miles and that wasn't one of the four!
