What is life like with your car? Let us know and win £500 in John Lewis vouchers | No thanks
The Fantasy Garage - AlastairW
When I win the lottery tomorrow (I've got to win eventually) the first order of business is to buy a nice big house with a 4 car garage. The question then is what to fill the garage with. My current list is:
1. For day to day running about, a Range Rover. The supercharged one, I think.
2. For fun, a Lotus Elise. Preferably a 111R.
3. For intercontinental cruising, a DB9.
4. A true exotic, in this case a Konigseggg. Because I can.

Granted I havn't included a classic - I want to drive these cars, not spend time in the garage.
What would be in your fantasy 4 car garage?
The Fantasy Garage - Pugugly {P}
A BMW 535 for day to day stuff.
A new shape Disco
DB9
An M5 to howl down the roads around here in the dead of night....

Quite simple.
The Fantasy Garage - bikemade3
BMW 330D for the day to day stuff.
Triumph Sprint ST for the Summer.
Halberg Rassy 54 for the fun of sailing and somewhere to drink gin.
The Fantasy Garage - blue_haddock
Ferrari 355 Spider in fly yellow
Porsche 911 (993) Turbo
Peugeot 205 Turbo Technics Dimma
Range Rover TD6 with a 'few' overfinch bits and bobs (runaround)

The Fantasy Garage - barneybee
If I won the lottery (which I won't because I don't play it):

- An absolutely mint Escort Cossie (child hood dream)
- BMW M3 convertible
- Mistsubishi Evo FQ-400 (because you'd need to have loads of money to keep with the service schedule)
- A classic Ford Mustang (Steve McQueen/Bullett style)

Oh how depressing it is to going to be to get in my Mitsubishi Carisma 1.9 DID this morning.
The Fantasy Garage - blue_haddock
Oh how depressing it is to going to be to get
in my Mitsubishi Carisma 1.9 DID this morning.

I would of thought that getting into such a car would be depressing every morning!
The Fantasy Garage - P3t3r
You'd buy a Range Rover! What's wrong with you? Buy something that will be enjoyable! Stupid tactors, I wouldn't be seen dead in one!
The Fantasy Garage - blue_haddock
not just any range rover though!
The Fantasy Garage - Railroad.
I'd buy an Aston Martin for me
A Land-Rover for my wife.
A Lexus for the family

and I'd like a Citroen 2CV to play around with....
The Fantasy Garage - Altea Ego
I would have two, two car garages

Garage 1 somewhere in England

A BMW 5 series estate.
An early e type soft top.

Garage 2 somewhere near Perth WA

A Vectra

www.winnebagoind.com/html/products/recVehicles/win...l

A Holden Monaro CV8Z

www.holden.com.au/www-holden/action/modeloverview?...3

Oh and at the rear of the garage in Perth would be a jetty, where the Sunseeker 82 could be found

www.euro-agent.com/yacht/marine_charter/split/moto...m

The Fantasy Garage - DavidHM
RF, is that Vectra named after the car that donated its headlights?

No idea whatsoever what my garage would contain, I'm afraid.
The Fantasy Garage - Altea Ego
"is that Vectra named after the car that donated its headlights?"

The lights sure do look mighty familiar

The Fantasy Garage - Tomo
The house need not be large; however...

1. Toad the Supra must be there!

2. Murcielago, in black.

3. Lagonda 3-litre Special, high chassis. (Had our honeymoon in one - well, when mobile, that is!)

4. Mercedes-Benz SSK (1930 variety, in case of confusion with any modern three letter combination); brake servo will be required. Think of looking along that bonnet to the three pointed star, for a start. The man can polish the exhaust pipes when he has finished Toad.

It seems a shame that Sonia the Sonata, doing all the useful work, will still have to stand outside.

The Fantasy Garage - bimmer-driver
I'll have a Range Rover and a BMW 645i convertible thankyou. Both in black. Fingers crossed for tonight!

Ben
The Fantasy Garage - y2k+4
Obviously, DB9 would top my list.

I'd have a Touareg for the occasions where 4-wheel drive are handy, and for taking stuff about.

Supra, because that was the first car I ever truly wanted.

And for the times I just want to wander about...an Avantime. Simply because I'll probably never see another.
The Fantasy Garage - Hugo {P}
Probably a Range Rover
Mini Convertable for the wife
Undecided 2 + 2 Targa top
Maybe a Freelander 3 door convertable
The Fantasy Garage - JH
You haven't left room for the Kubota ! Diesel of course.

John
The Fantasy Garage - cumfray1
In my 4 car garage I would have
1- Ferrari F40 Because I could
2- Volvo XC90 So my wife would have something to drive
3- Dodge Charger in General Lee colours would need to find a Daisy Duke look-a-like tho :)
4- An F1 car just to dream of what it would be like

Still it's good to dream
The Fantasy Garage - Dave E
Range Rover Sport, for pulling the SeaDoo, Elise (see below)

Maserati Quattroporte

SLK for Mrs E

Golf GTI for daughter.

An Elise or Caterham 7 for messing about on track days, well what else is there to do if you have all that money?
The Fantasy Garage - c h a r l e s

Ferrari Dino
Lancia Stratos
Peugeot 205 T16 (I'm reliably informed that Lotus had a couple of these and fitted active suspension to them in the days when they pioneered this in F1)
Challenger Tank

Admittedly the tank may occupy more than just one slot in the garage, but it would be the best of the bunch when the snow hits the south east this winter.
The Fantasy Garage - Avant
I think we've done this before but it's fun to think about it again, and we've probably changed our minds anyway. Thanks for suggesting it Alastair.

1 Mercedes CLK 350 convertible: an SLK or a Porsche would be
fun but a geand tourer suita my age and driving style
better than an out-and-out sports car

2 Mini Cooper S because SWMBO wants one, anmd we'd both
enjoy it

3 A classic convertible - the real fantasy would be a 1939
Lagonda straight-six but a Triumph Vitesse 2-litre would
be a lot more useable

4 For every day I'm hard pushed to better the current A4
Avant 2.5 TDI. I'd look at a BMW 330d but i-drive would
probably push me back to Audi, so probably the 3.0 TDI.

Yes, fantasising is fun, but I must be thankful that, having wanted an Audi for many years, now I've got one it fits all my very varying needs so admirably.
The Fantasy Garage - Avant
"A grand tourer suits my age..." I should say. Further fantasy - an instant touch typing course!
The Fantasy Garage - tyro
Pretty difficult to get it down to 4. And I'll have changed my mind half a dozen times by next week of course. But for this post I'll say

1) Honda Accord CDTi tourer - nice reliable sensible car for everyday use

2) Land Cruiser - for emergencies

3) Austin Cambridge A60 - a bit of nostalgia

4) Mondeo TDCi - for going to Backroom meets
The Fantasy Garage - SlidingPillar
1930 4.5 litre supercharged Bentley (a factory one)
Any age type 35c Bugatti
The 1930 Morgan SS Aero I already own
A Landrover 110 for lugging the Bug and the Morgan about (neither are that sensible as road cars) and going to the supermarket etc.

The Fantasy Garage - patently
Gosh. Err....

1. 911 (996) turbo for everyday use. Well, if you can, you might as well. At least it'll be reliable.

2. Cayenne Turbo. For bringing the big things back from B&Q/garden centres.

3. SLK 320 auto for Mrs P. No need to fit the kids in because we'll be hiring someone to do the school run.

4. 911 (964) RS for when track days beckon.

No Ferraris. I want something that will start in the morning and won't break if it spots a bump in the road ahead.

Likewise, no classics. If you like them, then fine. I'm not especially taken by oldies, though, and like my creature comforts. Yes, I know some might say the 964 is a classic, but it isn't really because it can still hold its own against modern stuff when doing the job it was designed for.
The Fantasy Garage - school boy
I would build my own underground carpark and have as many spaces as I could fit in!
The Fantasy Garage - school boy
But for just 4 spaces I would have an:

Overfinch Range Rover,

Lotus Carlton,

Old Mercedes S class,, to trash like in the movies and use it on the Gumball 3000,

Ford Transit,,, for fun.

The Fantasy Garage - islandman
1. Range Rover - the new sporty low one
2. Porche 911 - to keep the wife happy
3. Fully eqipped Gym
4. Girls Aloud (They can't sing, but who cares)

I assume 4 cars isn't mandatory.

The Fantasy Garage - Happy Blue!
Only a four car garage - cheapskate!

Well, if you insist....

Two classic cars and two modern cars.

Classics

1. Lamboghini Espada III (no surprises there!)

2. OOOh..can't decide between two Citroens either a late model 2CV6 or a 1973 DS Decapotable

Moderns

1. VW Phaeton with V10 TDI engine for that long motorway cruise - I'll be so wealthy I wont care about the depreciation

2. Subaru Forester 2.5XT auto - just like mine but with more power and a nicer interior. Very handy for local work.

--
Espada III - well if you have a family and need a Lamborghini, what else do you drive?
The Fantasy Garage - JH
Espada,
go for the DS, that way you don't have to watch the front wings flapping as you drive along. And it's a proper Citroen with hydropneumatic suspension too.
John
The Fantasy Garage - Happy Blue!
Yes, but the thought of driving across a recently ploughed field, wearing a hat and carrying a crate of freshly laid eggs (unbroken) is strangely appealing.......I think that lets the 2CV be classed as a proper Citroen as well :-).

Besides flapping front wings may just convert a car into a plane and really increase performance without friction from the tyres. Well its a fantasy garage, why not a fantasy car?

You won the lottery, remember? Buy some more eggs when you get there.

>>1973 DS Decapotable

mmmm, yes please. Although I would prefer a late series 2.3 efi, but If I could grasp the use of LHD, I would have the Citroen SM.
The Fantasy Garage - Altea Ego
>>1973 DS Decapotable

Hmmmm yes delectable

There is one running around nw surrey.
The Fantasy Garage - turbo11
my mate Darren(lucky so and so) has a fantasy garage already in the making,so far he has;
Ferrari 550 maranello in red(of course!)
Porsche Cayenne Turbo in black
Volvo V70 D5 in green(dodgy colour!)
and Ferrari Scaglietti 612 on order (tells me he should take delivery in about 18 months)
The Fantasy Garage - Andy P
Only four cars??? Damn....

Right, here goes:

1. Forthcoming Jaguar LWC convertible (saw it in the Telegraph and it looks superb)
2. Ferrari F430
3. Jaguar XJ Super V8 Supercharged
4. Nissan Skyline GT-R34 with the 400bhp upgrade

Andy
The Fantasy Garage - Glaikit Wee Scunner {P}
1.Aston Martin DB9 in the classic moss green metallic. For grand tours.

2.Porsche 911 RS 2.7 in white with blue sill logos. For rallies and track days.

3.Volkswagen Toureg V10 diesel in silver. General use/ski holidays.

4.Mazda MX5 to match nail varnish for SWMBO.

I can but dream.

--
I wasna fu but just had plenty.
The Fantasy Garage - Happy Blue!
Just remembered - if you have that much money you will fly everywhere, so long distance tourers not needed. Scrap my Pheaton and Subaru replace with a V10 TDI Touareg and a Mini Cooper S.
--
Espada III - well if you have a family and need a Lamborghini, what else do you drive?
The Fantasy Garage - Chad.R
1. M5 for everyday use - preferably a touring if BMW ever do one again or an Audi RS6 Avant, maybe even an E55 estate.
2. A DB9 - talk about desirable, it seems to be on almost everyone's list!
3. A Landcruiser Amazon - not a "weenie" Colorado like I have at the moment.
4. Some kind of exotic like a Ferrari 550 or Lambo Murci... but will probably settle for a nice RUF Porsche turbo (of course in RUF Yellow).

Like most of the cars I've ever had, they'll probably get shuffled around and changed quite often except that they'll be a lot more expensive this time.
The Fantasy Garage - apm
Tricky. I'd go for:

1. Spitfire. Supermarine, not Triumph.
2. Jaguar XKSS. Most beautiful car ever made, in my opinion.
3. Volvo XC70, for sensible stuff
4. 911 GT1. For going fast.
And I'm sure I could fit in a Ducati 996, too. In red.

As Chad says, that'll be for the first year. Obviously the spit will stay- not much you could replace it with (maybe a P51 Mustang..)

The Fantasy Garage - Glaikit Wee Scunner {P}
Alex,
It is a four CAR garage you know.

XKSS- interesting- but having seen one in the metal I thought it was a hideous corruption of a short nose D type.
In my opinion the C type was the real beauty of its era. I saw a Proteus C type lookalike some years ago which had been built and trimmed very expensively by another company. Gorgeous.

I'd find a corner for a bike or two as well- on appearance alone I prefer the Ducati 916- on second thoughts I'd have it next to the TV to look at when nothing good is on!

I wasna fu but just had plenty.
The Fantasy Garage - Big Bird
I'm a bit late onto the back of this one as we've been arguing over the 4 cars at work.

My 4 are:
1. Maserati Quattroporte - just looks so cool and not many about, (the lads at work reckon I'm mad - with DB9 or TVR as their choices).
2. Seriously big 4x4 king cab (Nissan?)- if I win the lottery I've promised a pony to a little one. I'd want to have some fun whilst towing it around.
3. Mini Cooper S convertible - just read HJs road test.
and finally:
4. Mondeo TDCi - ok not a dream car but I've got one and it works so why get rid of it. (hoots of derision from the lads in the canteen but I'm sure it'll get BR approval).

Maybe I should go and buy a lucky dip.

Dan
The Fantasy Garage - lezebre
A petrol Range Rover - seems to be a popular choice when you've got three other cars to play with.

A nice DS, with the flick flick fingertip gearchange.

A 1941 Packard - because it would remind me of my old Morris www.autogallery.org.ru/k/pa/41pacSix4sitzcpe100hp7...g but wouldn't be so totally lacking in prestige.

A Citroen Ami Super - in red. who needs prestige when you can have that much fun. Might be easier to find a Packard, though.
The Fantasy Garage - smokie
1. The Aston
2. A Caterham or Lotus 7 cos I've always fancied one
3. A large Ford pick up (double cab)
4. The Mondeo TDCI just to see why everyone loves 'em so much. Just for a week though, then get the Corvette C6
The Fantasy Garage - Big Bad Dave
The Fantasy Garage - AR-CoolC
My fantasy garage would be much bigger than 4 cars, but until that garage is built.

1. Aston DB9 for me
2. BMW X5 for SWMBO (I'll use it as and when)
3. Arial atom for play time
4. space for me to tinker with an old split screen VW camper, the garage would also be fully equiped with lifts, work benches, full snap-on tool kit, etc.

The Fantasy Garage - Sunny22
Easy...

Porsche Cayenne Turbo
Benz CLS 55 AMG
DB9 for the weekend
Cant decide over a Bentley Continental or a 650ci?! ... So i'll have both!
The Fantasy Garage - IanJohnson
E55 AMG but with standard MB badges (everyday use)
Landcruiser Colorado - for the days when it snows
Murcielago roadster for the summer days cruising
Ariel Atom for fun

Why does SWMBO need a car - they all have 2 seats!
The Fantasy Garage - BazzaBear {P}
1. 1980 Aston Martin V8 Vantage, with the X-pack engine.

2. Maserati Quattroporte

3. Eleanor

4. Little Caterham / Westfield type.
The Fantasy Garage - Xileno {P}
New Discovery 3

Aston Martin DB7

Megane 225 Sport Trophy or possibly Clio V6

City Rover - to remind me just how poor a new car can be.
The Fantasy Garage - Adam {P}
>>3. Eleanor<<

Good film.

I'd have:
1.Jaguar XK140 fixed head coupe in black with wire wheels, disk brakes and a 3.8S engine.
By far the best looking of the XKs imo and ideal for pottering along the motorways on a quiet day.
2. Bentley Continental circa 1950in black for formal use. Superb looking car.. only matched in looks by:
3. Current Bentley Continental in metallic black and automatic.
4. A Toyota Yaris diesel with swivelling front seats for town driving. In metallic black with aircon and sunroof.

Then I'd need a mechanic, a car washer and polisher and someone to drive me when I will be drunk.

TOnight just seen a DB9 looks lovely but strange without any gearstick! and a E-Type Jag convertible with 4.2 litre engine? Now that was superb.

Remember you've won the lottery big time!

So you can park some (at least 50, I would think) cars either side of the driveway (read road) up to the house (read mansion), some cars dotted around the landscaped gardens - in an aesthetically please manner of course, you could drain the swimming pool .....or what about the stables.... oh, and did I forget to mention the boat house!

Nah. The money won't change me.

(har har!)
The Fantasy Garage - Carmad 10000
I would have the following in my garage:

1. Porsche 911 Turbo
2. Audi S4 Estate
3. Aston Martin Vanquish
3. BMW M3 Convertible
5. Aerial Atom/Lotus Elise 111R
