What type and colour of car did Victor drive? I have been accused of owning one!!

snowy, have you ever owned either a grey escorty type car or a red (i think) ford sierra?. these are the two cars i seem to remember being associated with victor in the series.

I think it was a grey metallic Honda Ballade on an E or F plate.
|
The (Nissan) Almera's main claim to fame was being grouch Victor Meldrew's mode of transport.
|
He also, apparently, had a Rover 200, the original square shaped Rover 213 (and 216) produced up to 1989.

Ah yes, the Honda. I remember him being sat in a traffic jam complaining yet again about the garage that serviced it. Upon scanning the radio for something to listen to, he pushed in a cassette. The garage mechanics had recorded the following song on it:-

The Rover and the Honda Ballade were produced on the same production line at Longbridge.
Saw the line for myself on one visit to the plant although, on that occasion, it was the Honda Concerto version of the Rover (or, if the truth be told, vice-versa!).

In the early series, he had a poverty spec Fiesta (B or C reg) in IIRC biege.
And there was the Honda Ballade as other replies in the motorway jam.

I think in the first series he owned a 1970s red Hillman. There's a great phrase when he goes into the garage to ask about the car's progress: "Hello, it's Victor Meldrew, the crimson Avenger!"
