Coding 2nd hand ECU '52 Renault Laguna? - Jimmons
Hi, my ECU has had it in my 2002 Renault Laguna 1.8.
Does anyone know whether a second hand ecu can be fitted and re-coded to my car or does it have to be a brand new one from renault?

I would be more concerned why it needs a new ECU at all. Who diagnosed this?

Might be less expensive to see if can be fixed.

My son's ECU went a few years ago - £50 fixed it - the chap said it was £2.00 for the part and the rest for knowing what had failed - it took him less than 30 mins.

A main dealer would have change the board and the cost would have been £500
