Which do you think has caused most accidents on the road.
1.People talking on their mobiles whilst driving?
or
2.People gawping at an excessive display of xmas lights on the front of a house?
I mean....you can't help yourself looking at the awfulness of it can you? Try it, try driving past one without gawping. It's like trying to eat a doughnut without licking your lips!

Or
3. Drivers being blinded by their mini xmas trees with lights that they place on their dashboard?

I'll have you know that my Christmas tree air freshener with flashing lights that dangles from the rear view mirror isn't the slightest bit distracting ;)
(Even when it's swaying in and out of my vision)

I meant to add:
"Mind you, now I'm banned from driving cause of my bludgered arm, it's a bit of a moot point."

And there was me thinking it illegal to have anything blocking your view ;)

tack..Sensible mode..No 1. I have been narrowly missed several times today. Due to van drivers being one hand on wheel. Other holding mobile. Can`t say I take any notice of well lit houses otherwise would cause an accident

In the Philippines it's traditional for everyone who can afford it to try and out-do everyone else with often splendidly creative lighting. Our street is a blaze of colour with everything from animated angels and Santas with sledges, the shape of trees picked out with lights, to whole skyscrapers in the CBD with their profiles picked out in coloured lights. Even the poorest families will do something to decorate their dwellings. And this in a country with Asia's second highest electricity costs next to Japan.
Every night I have to wait up to ten minutes just to get out of my sub-division while all the cars clear from the nearby church.
Perhaps a reflection of how Christmas in this intensely family-conscious society is seen as a joyous occasion versus the commercial cynicism it seems to attract in UK.
Personally I love it, and I've never come across a road accident caused by it.
