I posted it last night at around 8pm.
It was about a company called AutoMatch who phoned me up and said that it has 2 buyers lined up to buy my car which I have up for sale, and all I had to do was give some payment details over the phone for around 9 pound and they will send the buyers round!
I wasn't going to give any details until I had some info on the company and that is when I sent my post last night asking if anyone had heard of them.
I came on this morning to check if I had any more replies, and it has dissappeared!!
Any comments!?

Not me.
And I cannot imagine why the others would delete it if you where simply asking for opinions.
Assuming that you did actually post it, sometimes even I click the wrong button, then I can only imagine that someone posted something unacceptable in response to you and one of the others removed it.
If you wait a while DD will be along and no doubt comment if it was him.

"Assuming that you did actually post it"
M,
It was there, though I didn't read it since I'd never heard of Automatch and there were no replies!

Dunno then. I guess we'll wait for the others to drop in and pass comment.

I remember seeing it! And somebody replied saying that they knew someone who had been charged £75 by one of these companies and never saw the buyers!

|
Yes, it was there - I read it and a couple of replies

"I posted it last night at around 8pm."
Careful - sounds like a fly by night outfit!

I don't think I'd be sending off any money or giving any payment details to anyone I wasn't 100% certain of.

Hi
Dear mods, If this info has been posted before, please do not hesitate to delete it.
GazKaz, the company you mention may be genuine and therefore the following comments may not be relevant. Have you tried a Google Search?
Both police and trading standards have issued warnings about fraudsters targetting vehicle sales. There are 2 main areas:
1) Advance fee fraud, for payment by seller they are introduced to "non existant" buyers. Usually no buyer. If you make the payment, the fraudsters will have obtained some details of your bank account either to sell on to others or commit a fraud against. The fraudsters are after your info.
Or
2) Scam runs along line of overpaying by cheque and asking the seller to bank the difference keeping a bit as commission. Seller thinks they are on to a nice little earner. By time seller discovers cheque is stolen/fraudulent, the car and buyer are gone.
In short, dont trust unknown people who contact you out of the blue.
But then you know that anyway which is why you posted the original message:)
Regards
Vercin

Dear Vercin
Thanks for your detailed reply!
The guy from Automatch phoned me back yesterday and I politely declined his offer. I told him that I would rather sell my car via the normal means.
I checked out their web-site and it is basic to say the least. They may well be a reputable company, but I always trust my gut reactions. And anyway, if they had 2 buyers lined up, what's to stop the buyers from just phoning me up, cutting out Mr AutoMatch?!
Thanks to all for your replies, and sorry for the swear word which got my original post deleted, but if I can remember, it wasn't a bad one!
Thanks
GazKaz

Presumably they just haven't seen your ad, but they have registered their requirements with Automatch, whose "trawlers" have seen it
