69. BANGER RALLY: What can you tell me about the Plymouth - Banjul Banger Rally?

From the organiser, Julian Norwill:

"Once again, we are in need...either free or for sale, with or without MOT, even dead carcasses are welcome so they can give up their LHD bits to a RHD car. (All entrants MUST be LHD so they can be given away at the end of the rally.)

There is also a new category this year...for Classics so rough that they are not worthy of restoration. Totally unsuitable wrecks most welcome, for auction in Gambia for spares or scrap. Again, any owners who want to see their rusting classic given a good thrashing in retirement just contact me. Last year a Split Screen Minor made it with no problem... however the team carried out much welding and switched it to LHD so it would raise more in the charity auction.

This year we have an offshoot to Bamako in Mali, a run to Tashkent, and a bloke has a very impressive run to Mongolia. The original idea is
spawning many offshoots.
